These banners will be used to promote FV vision to empower orphans at the Dispatch:Zimbabwe concert at Madison Square Gardens on July 13,14,15. The large banner is nearly ten feet wide, and the smaller ones are 3 feet wide.

I just got the invite today to be part of Dispatch for Zimbabwe at Madison Square Gardens in July. I'll be supporting Forgotten Voices any way that I can. I'm becoming more and more convinced that good will find good, and that adventure finds those who journey towards what is right.

How Artsy Are We.
Should I Just Move to Boulder, CO? |
| 6.13.07 |
 |
I see a lot of problems with this article.
I don't know how many people actually read our page, and of those that may, how many are from Lancaster? But the recent article on our art scene was very interesting. I have a couple comments.
First: Congrats to JOYENGINE.com for being from Boulder. If you don't already check out their site you should...consistently. I'm sure they are a big part of why the article thinks its more than two times as "artsy" as Lancaster.
Second: Who uses the word artsy to describe themselves.
Third: Lancaster, oh sweet Lancaster. What a tough place to rank. I'm going to make some comments about how Boulder is different from Lancaster.
Young people are taking risks and being involved in the arts. Older people are encouraging them to take risks and buying what they make. There is graffiti and public art in Boulder. Not the kind of Public art that boards upon boards of gov. officials agree can be placed in the park...but the kind that spawns from fresh creatives who can't help but beautify spaces. The art is not always comfortable. Its patrons do not buy paintings that match their couches, or a wall color, but because it doesn't look the same as their neighbors art.
So what do we do to create the environment we want as an art community in Lancaster. Do we move to Boulder? No, of course not. We celebrate the Fulton, and the Music School, and the Art School, but...we must support art made by individuals who are not business men yet. And who don't want to become that. We must support creativity that comes from communities of creatives, who are not funded by the local government. Good luck to Lancaster. May we stop trying to decorate our homes and start to digest the message of a creative city.
If you really don't know how to support fresh thinkers in Lancaster. Spend a couple minutes inside the Metropolis Gallery, create some quality graffitti (on your own property of course), and financially support a young artist.

That blank canvas may be being filled by someone else. We can only hope their creativity outweighs their desire for profit. Sometimes you just gotta look back one year in your life and remember that you're happy your father is alive, and that driving from Lancaster to Oregon, and back, is pretty bad ass. And be thankful that you were blessed with a beautiful teacher. That the past is over and the future is just a figment of our imaginations. And that figment is just some dumb little purple dinosaur Disney used to lie to me as a child. Sometimes we just have to remember that The Infantree was birthed in a split second that lasted a couple months, and that creating, learning, dreaming and believing are inherent traits. Wage war, not violence. We may be moving our battle...but it carries on.

We are not scared of hypotheticals, or the size of what is not known. There is nothing better than a blank canvas with wooden floors. An empty space waiting to be brought to life. With hopes of involving the community, becoming a gallery, and making you want to hang out with us; The Infantree is pumped about its possibilites, dreaming about its future, and laying the framework for beauty.

A shout out to someone who is a champ at all he does. And a dreamer of big dreams. Between his heart for the children of Africa and consistently coming in second, to me, in the name game...Matt is a hero.
